POST ANNIVERSARY AWESOMENESS!

Hello,
Sara Moskovitz of the Apple Juice Crew and new member of the Local Cut online division of the Willamette Week posted her interview with Bobbito. Here's the link to that ::

WWEEK LOCAL CUT MANGO TANGO INTERVIEW

Also, in the wake of our 2 Year Anniversary Mango Tango gave us a quick rundown of what it was like to be in the NW. He wrote about a trip to Nike, his experience at The Fix and how lucky we are to have such a great scene here in Portland. He is totally on point (with his game) with his persectives.
Give it a quick read here ::

I am glad our we can bring in guests with the support of the crowd that attends The Fix. It really wouldn't be possible if no one came out. We also try to maintain that we are charging the lowest amount to break even. So we aren't caked up or paying our rent with the dough. We just and I just love to make shows happen. So basically this is my way of saying thank you!
We hope you love and continue to support the dj's that live here and the ones that don't as well.
Stay warm and stay dry.
We are also trying to do something special on Christmas evening.
Dan aka DUNDIGGY

PS. The Fix gift pack makes a great XMAS stocking stuffer!
available at The Fix and at Hecklewood!

Some more what ifs

What if I was going to sleep and kept tossing and turning I would want this sung to me as a lullaby...

What If?
We put on dope shows for cheap?
What if?
We are doing it for the love! Thanks for your support!

Here's what the Willamette Week had to say ::
"The Fix: Bobbito García, Rev Shines, Ohmega Watts, DJ KEZ, DJ Dundiggy
[DON JUAN SUAVE] The Fix is the Someday Lounge’s weekly classic hip-hop-soaked party. To ring in its proud second anniversary, resident DJs KEZ, Shines and Dundiggy are handing the decks over to Bobbito García, New York City’s Puerto Rican street kingpin of all things good in this world. Check it out: Dude is the voice behind the “Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito” radio show and Knicks basketball games; a professional baller for the Puerto Rican equivalent of the NBA; an avid Nike and Adidas collector and creator (he penned an entire book with his affinity for aesthetically pleasing sneakers); the founder of Bounce Magazine and Fondle ’Em Records; an underground mix-tape maker. All “DJ Kool Bob Love” García needs now is his own Ben & Jerry’s flavor—something like Cool Cucumber and C.R.E.A.M. SARA MOSKOVITZ. 9 pm. 125 NW 5th Ave., 248-1030. $7. 21+. "

What If?
XMAS is coming up faster than I expected! Matt Nelkin is going to be our special guest the evening of the 25th. (the lords bday) Go out and celebrate that shit! Pop a bottle of wine.

What if you could keep a secret.
Secrets are like lies. They are easy to put out there. I think I am bad at both.

The Fix turns 2!!!

For two years now The Fix has served as a beacon of light for Portland's hip-hop impassioned. What sprang from a labor of love, The Fix has developed into an entity all it's own. A place where people of a like mind can come to in celebration of the music we love. Deep rooted but not limited to hip-hop, The Fix thought it only appropriate to bring you a guest that helped build this culture we hold so dear. Ladies and gentlemen enter…Bobbito Garcia. Backed by the cats that have been consistently innovating, educating and always entertaining your thursdays. Ohmega Watts, Rev. Shines, Kez and Dun Diggy.

Bobbito Garcia aka Dj Cucumberslice aka Cool Bob Love has been a prominent fixture in nearly every facet of hip-hop and street culture since the 80's as a DJ, writer, actor, photographer, entrepreneur, street player, sneakerfreak, and member of the Rock Steady Crew.

Briefly after starting at Def Jam Bobbito linked up with Stretch Armstrong to form what The Source then named as "The Best Hip-Hop Radio Show of All Time". Rightfully so as the show was credited for introducing the world to then unsigned acts such as Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Big Pun, Fugees and Mobb Deep. Still on a mission to carry the underground through the 90's Bobbito formed the acclaimed indie label Fondle'Em records providing an outlet for MF Doom, Kool Kieth and Cage.

Aside from being a bonafide hip-hop legend Bobbito is still renowned in the street for his first love, basketball. A streetball performer himself with a group called "Project Playground Basketball" that has appeared on numerous TV slots and Knicks halftime shows. Always the protean Bobbito branched into other aspects of basketball founding the streetball mag Bounce while becoming a saught after announcer. Having done voice overs for Nike, the NBA Street franchise as well as joining the New York Knicks broadcast team, Bobbito is truly the voice of New York B ball.

Already questioning when the man has time to breathe, Bobbito is also and accomplished columnist for the likes of Vibe, Fader, Urb, and the Source. A sneaker connoisseur having authored a book on the subject and hosting show on ESPN "It's the Shoes". His list goes on and on. Clearly a testament to the fact that Bobbito is a true inspiration to all of us following our passions in life. Creating our own path and not following suit to the norm, which is of course what The Fix is all about. We cordially invite you to a come celebrate a milestone for us and what you our guests have helped create.
